‘Masterpiece’ - Infamous 2 review
Third person adventure games seem very common these days, each hoping to achieve memorable and outstanding experiences through methods of storytelling and imaginative gameplay, infamous 2 achieves this outright with flying colours.
Earlier on this week, we saw a passionate look at hopes and expectations for infamous 2, the anticipation and excitement surrounding this game was almighty. I was eager to discover how Sucker Punch could better themselves with the new entry in the series, what new additions the thrilling and mysterious series would bring, edging you to pick up your pad and take control of Cole Macgrath again and again.
I’ll get this out of the way now, without revealing any spoilers regarding the games plot it is imperative to understand that once you take control of Cole in this new adventure, you will want to play it till the game’s emotional and tear jerking ending, the sequel moved me and not many games or films for that matter have achieved this in the past.
Infamous 2 contains all of its predecessor’s gameplay derivatives, keeping its focus on the escalation of buildings and combatting enemies with your consumable electric energy, you really do feel like a super hero in this game. Taking a huge leap forward with your array of powers Cole possesses you are given the feeling of overwhelming power all the time, alongside a constant inkling for a taste of more power, this is an adventure not to be rushed due to the huge amount of content available to you this time.
The first entry boasted several elements that added hours of replay value after game had finished, the quest for blast shards that increase your energy stock, dead drop collection which slowly opened up more of the back story and side missions for domination of the map, these are all included plus the addition of ‘user generated content’.
Sucker Punch has successfully implemented what many have failed, the feature that adds fresh and free content created by you. The editor included is easily accessible and provides a fantastic array of tools to create missions of your choice and shower the map with, from defeating enemies on the map to chasing civilians through a series of checkpoints the possibilities are endless. Other companies should definitely see this UGC as a perfect example of how this feature should be exploited and mimicked, no doubt it will.
Graphically, the sequel is breathtakingly impressive, building vastly upon the engine used on the first, infamous 2 shines brightly in conjunction with the Playstation 3’s powerful hardware. Cinematics have changed completely this time, with much better motion capture and detail added to buildings and characters. The highly acclaimed comic book feel is also kept but is strayed from slightly compared to its predecessor but this is a good thing and can be appreciated much more when presented.
Once again Sucker punch has proved itself to possess a great talent with the genre, providing an experience unparalleled by any other adventure game out exclusively or multi-platform.
Infamous 2 is a third person adventure game, aiming high with its plot twists and robust inventive design, redefining a much neglected concept of super hero antics and explorative open world possibilities, the game stand on its own as a unique masterpiece that will touch the heart of anyone that decides to play it.

Fans of the action-adventure franchise have been eagerly awaiting news of a potential sequel to one of the best games on the PS4.
How would fans feel about a reboot? You know to bring a new audience in? Not a good idea? Good idea?
Second Son was released in 2014 was an amazing game visually and gameplay wise, sometimes I play it again on the PS5 and seeing it run at 60 fps is something to behold(yes an almost 10 year old game), if you haven't done that on your PS5 try it you won't be disappointed, pure eye candy, a PS5 exclusive of Infamous would be amazing no doubt.

From Xfire: "For a company with a three-decade-long history in gaming, Sony has done a crappy job at preserving its legacy. "
All the mgs games, all the ape escapes, silent hill 1-4, croc 1 and 2, legend of dragoon, tekken 3,tenshu, bushido blade, vagrant story, okami, ico, crash bash, gt4.
Thats just off the top of my head that i would play immediately, still so many more though that id love.
Folklore. It was such a unique and beautiful game. Great soundtrack. I still have my PS3 copy
Infamous 1 & 2 probably will get remaster for PS5/4 at some point as for the others in that article idk
A brand new version of the best Playstation 3 emulator, RPCS3, brings major graphical improvements in Metal Gear Solid 4, inFamous 2, Ninja Gaiden & more.
If the PC can emulate the PS3, then for sure the PS5 would be able to do same. but dose Sony want it?
Any ps3 owner has too own this masterpiece . My disk drive has just gone on my old super slim . So I bought the digital version no questions ask . If you have a ps3 own this masterpiece that’s all I can say . I replay it every year and still find loads of enjoyment . The last true metal gear in my opinion . V was good and gameplay amazing , but it’s just not a metal gear quality story wise .
I would ignore the 'earlier on this week' part as I copy and pasted it directly off of my blog.
Masterpiece? Really?
I love the franchise, no doubt (I've platted both), but a masterpiece is truly an overstatement.
All I know is that I love my backpack from the hero edition. It's my new camera bag.
the stort was really sad on both ends, the evil one hit me really hard. killing Zeke your long life friend was saddening
bu the game is really great, and to bring you in such an emotional state means that they have succeded in bringing the game to life.
