This is my first Call of Duty game and I was really excited about it. It looked pretty cool from all of the stuff I've seen, and you know, I'm trying to fit into the "in" crowd who owns MW2. However, what I've got is a really mixed bag.
First of all is the campaign. It starts out and unfolds pretty much like any other cod game, beside a few new diversions (mountain climbing, snow mobile riding, breaching, etc.). However, despite being action packed and filled with one of the best and most cinematic moments in cod history, one thing I'm especially disappointed about the single player was the story and linearity of it all. I mean, yeah, for the first 3 or 4 missions, you'll know what's happening. You train the militia. You storm a town. You retrieve a satellite from a base just for military business. Makarov (a terrorist) massacres a bunch of people at a russian airport. Then you have to track down the arms dealer who gave him the weapons. Okay so far. But there are also confusing moments. Like, WHY did (spoiler alert) Shepard become evil? WHY I'm I in a ghillie suit shooting through people in an abandoned airport? WHY is Captain Price in a gulag? WHY did Shepard allow danger close just to blow up his men and not even kill us at all? WHY I'm I saving hostages in an oil refinery place thing? WHY?!
It's also linear, simply going from point a to b.
No customization or branching paths whatsoever.
Just "kill these guys" or "shoot this plane down".
Overall, it's short and, while it was very satisfying when i first played it, It quickly got boring. And intel? Seriuosly? Why didn't they add something new? "sigh"
Then there's spec ops. It's simply some objective based missions where it remakes some campaign scenes to make you play through. However, most of them are just TOO hard to be enjoyable at all, and it takes forever to get new missions. Fun diversion, nothing more. Of course, you could do online co-op with a buddy, but the time I played with my friend, it lagged like CRAZY. And you can't play public either. "sigh"
But of course, there 's the multiplayer. the main reason everybody got this. Let me just say it's pretty good. Shooting down a guy gets satisying, especially if ur good, there are lots of ways to customize your classes and titles, and there are lots of game modes. The new HUD looks a lot better than mw1, and there are plenty of maps.
However, there are some issues. I've had a couple dropped games due to crappy server connections and host migration issues. They don't happen all of the time, but they happen. I also end up playing the same maps over and over again and there are still dousche bags that will call u a fag for no reason.
So over all, this is just okay. If you're getting this for the single player , just rent it. Experience it, then send it back. It's not worth your 60 bucks. However, it is (sort of) if you're talking about the multiplayer.
For PS3 owners: This game runs fine. The frame rate is almost always perfect and you don't need an installation. Load times are a tad long for spec ops, but besides that, it loads at an okay rate. Be wary of connection issues though. Not constant, but possible.

The original Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 games have been drawing players back in
I really hope we get other activision games on GP soon. My dream would be Scarface but I know the license probably expired
None of those games had dedicated servers on console in the first place? Were always player hosted. Did something change?

Modern Warfare 2 fans have taken to Reddit to mock Call of Duty for reusing skin designs in the BlackCell pass ahead of Season 4 launch.
not surprised i trued playing the new cod it still very hard for me to find the game 2days ago on pc i clicked the exe watched a cutscene could not skip 5 store ads then spent 10min trying to find were to play the game.
There is more store ads/directories than anything so why not reuse stuff its 80% mt's 20% video game now
Does anyone know were the single player went? never finished it can not find how to launch it on pc

After numerous missteps, Call of Duty, after a good long while, is finally on the right track with Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0.
You have very good/accurate points for most of the review, but you lose credibility cause of your title/graphics rating. MW2 is overrated.
