It's that time again when patriotism rises to the surface as individual root for the nation's colors and athletes. I Have always loved these type of games and for me it is no different with Beijing 2008.
Although some of the control schemes can be a bit complex for certain events they are all doable. The graphics in this game are excellent, and the gameplay is good. I'm not going to get into all the other things that technical reviewers tend to use to rob games of the review points. For this game I can care less whether or not the grass blades blow in the wind before an event starts.
All I can tell you is that this game is loads of fun, as you strive to either beat your friends in coop play or take down the current world record, or both. For me the track and field events are the most fun followed by gymnastics, then the shooting events. You will have hours of fun playing this title and find a tingle of joy (Not that type of tingle) at times when you knock down a world record.
The one thing that this game is lacking is the pure feel of the olympic environment; for instance, in EA's NCAA football, you can just feel the college environment as it pulls you deeper and deeper into the game. No so much with beijing 2008.
This game is best played with friends (up to 4 on 1 xbox) or you can play on live and have more friends involved. The biggest problem I had while playing on live was it seemed as if there was a huge advantage for the host, as he easily won all of the running events, and I could never get anywhere near my best times while playing on live.

Nominations for Develop Industry Excellence Awards are unveiled, and two developers are likely to walk away with most of them.
Rockstar and Media Molecule will be contesting for the most category nominations. Rockstar snags six of them with GTA: Chinatown Wars and GTA IV: The Lost and the Damned from Rockstar while Media Molecule's LittleBigPlanet alone is nominated for another five.
Wouldn't be surprised if Rockstar takes all their 6 nominations and brings home several prizes =)

Do you still suffer from Olympic fever? Are you constantly checking NBC looking for any glimpse of a balance beam, pool, or waving country flags? Fear not, Summer Athletics is here with your cure. Sure, you would think that an Olympic-styled game would just add fuel to the fire, but Summer Athletics is all but guaranteed to drown it, like Michael Phelps treats other Olympians' dreams.
If you remember the ancient Commodore 64 title, Summer Games, you know what to expect. The title is surprisingly similar, given the twenty-plus years between the two games. You have the option to play a single event, compete in a set of events (including a traditional decathlon), or build an athlete from scratch with career mode. The game gives you twenty-six events to play, in seven different categories. Save the lame career mode and a handful of additional events, it feels strikingly similar to the classic Commodore 64 title, except the older title actually plays better.

Eurogamer writes: "No introduction is necessary for our latest console comparison feature; you all know the deal by now. Top notch 24-bit RGB screenshots? Check. HD-derived streaming video with crystal clear h.264 quality? Check. Flame-retardant clothing capable of withstanding the Human Torch's nova-blast? Double-check.
Just a couple of notes before the rows and bitter recriminations commence. Beginning with this latest feature, we're now embedding larger videos. There are also extended versions with even higher resolution available as clickthroughs via Eurogamer TV. Make sure you hit the 'high quality' button to get the full benefits of h2.64 encoding. If the cropped, slow motion videos are not good enough for you, full 720p 60FPS downloads optimised for playback on both 360 and PS3 are available on the author's blog."

Eurogamer=The site for 360 fans to chest thump over.
It's obvious that Eurogamer will do everything in their power to make PS3 multiplatform games look bad.

comparing multi-plat games is funny because they where not made for the PS3! They where made for 360 PS2 Wii DS PS3 PC
